norms....
apparently...
- wearing boots with a skirt looks more unprofessional than wearing thigh-high socks
- completely isolating a classroom at the top of gilley is safe and easily accessed
- if you "donate" enough money, you can get out of ANYTHING
- shorts were a great idea and a fantastic senior privilege
- girls don't need to wear shorts under their skirts
- patterned tights look more unprofessional than thigh-high socks
- hot cheetos and dr. pepper are a great start to your morning
- 600 calorie costco muffins are also a great start to your morning
- it's okay to waste money on useless/ugly t-shirts that no one will wear again
- paying +$35,000 for tuition does not cover the $10 parking ticket for not displaying a sticker
- you don't need to wear a uniform polo underneath your sweater
- it's okay for guys to touch guys and for girls to touch girls but it's not okay for guys to touch girls
- if you look tired, you're stoned
- you have to go to college
- golf is a sport
- teachers all pick the same week to assign tests, quizzes, essays, projects and powerpoints
- shorts are an appealing privilege for girls
- eating in the senior courtyard is for special events only
- secrets aren't actually secrets
- everyone already knows everything about you

creative blog #7: shoes
i love shoes. you probably wouldn't be able to tell by the torn-up toms i wear every day to school. that's okay, but lemme just tell you. i love them. sometimes, when i get home from school, i throw a pair of pumps on and just walk around the house. i love how shoes make everyone feel confident. one of my favorite movies is kinky boots (if you haven't seen it, it's about a traditional shoe company that starts making high heels boots for trannys). i love unique shoes. jeffrey campbell is my favorite shoe company. i'm pretty sure that almost every shoe from jeffrey campbell has at least a 5 inch heel. if i had the money, i would buy every single jeffrey campbell shoe that was availible. the main reason i have a job is so i can buy shoes. i guess if i made more money, i'd own a lot more. they are kind of hard to find because there is no jeffrey campbell store. LF sells them but they jack up the price so i don't usually buy from them. i prefer to just order them online because i am always a size 8 in jeffrey campbells. i am currently saving up for the shoes in the image at the beginning of the post. my mom tells me i look like elton john when i try on the more "ridiculous" looking shoes jeffrey campbell sells. *sigh* IF ANYONE IS WONDERING WHAT TO GET ME (for any occasion... happy thursday everyone!), I WOULD LIKE A PAIR OF JEFFREY CAMPBELLS, SIZE 8. any shoe will do..............
really.

creative blog #6: rod stewart
i love rod stewart. i could listen to him on repeat. the first song i learned how to play on guitar (before i stopped playing) was maggie may. his voice just sounds old, but in the best sense. the passion he shows and the fact he still thinks he has sex appeal just makes me admire him, despite the fact we come from completely different world. i want to meet him and just tell him all the times i related to his songs, not that he'd actually be interested in what i had to say lol. he's just... classy. i dont know if that's the right word considering his use of female body parts on many of his album covers, but it suits him. i'm not really much of a romantic but i think rod stewart could turn anyone into one.

creative blog #4: boston
so, i spent the weekend in boston 2 weeks ago just to make sure i was happy with my college decision. yes, i am very happy about going to BU but i'm afraid of the winter... i don't know if i'll be able to deal with arctic temperatures. i know if i am dressed properly, then i'll be fine but i really don't know what i'm getting myself into. it was 50 degrees when i was there and all of the "bostonians" were wearing t-shirts and jeans while my mother and i are wearing boots, scarves, sweaters, hoodies, and thick trench coats. we looked ridiculous. the cold wasn't the horrible part, it was the wind. in the middle of the day, it would start to warm up so, i left my thick jacket in the hotel room and i felt fine until... the wind. this wind was like a blizzard blowing down commonwealth avenue. sooooo ridiculous. i don't even know what the hell i am going to do when it is 5 degrees outside and the wind starts to blow. i could barely handle it when it was 50 degrees. i'm gonna need some serious winter clothes.

creative blog #3: pilates
i started working at a pilates studio in december because i wanted a job. just for some background: pilates is a form of exercise designed for the injured. it was first developed in wwII by joseph pilates to help injured soldiers regain strength and function. pilates was picked up by dancers on the east coast after the war and has spread ever since. i have seen people who are supposed to have back surgery walk into the studio and come out a month later, feeling better than ever. pilates is truly an amazing thing for people who are in physical pain due to body ailments.
however, you would not believe the stories i have. some of the people who come into the studio are actually insane. i get yelled at on a daily basis by old women, who are popping WAY too many pain pills, because they don't understand the studio policy and they don't know how to use the computer. no one really knows my name either. i get called girly, girlfriend, hun, sweetie, babe and sometimes sara (if they've seen me more than once). people don't understand what it's like behind a desk so they don't respect a receptionist. they aren't willing to get to know me so i have no choice by to project a pleasant exterior all the time so that i do not offend any one. oh well, i make $.

creative blog #2: m cafe
so, i decided to go vegan a few months ago and it has been so difficult trying to find places to eat with friends. when we go off campus, if we go to the habit or poquito mas, i end up getting a lettuce wrapped veggie burger or a plate of rice and beans. it gets dull pretty quickly. so, i started looking for all vegan restaurants. i found m cafe on yelp and it looked pretty good and very interesting. it's too far to go to for off campus lunch but i love taking friends there and seeing their faces when i tell them that it's vegan. they do serve fish there because some vegans choose to eat fish, but overall it is a vegan cafe. i got the "pulled" bbq tempeh sandwich and it honestly tasted just like a pulled pork bbq sandwich. the people there are also so friendly! i've noticed that people who are a part of the vegan community are so friendly and supportive of each other because they know how hard the transition in, the sacrifices they make, and the lifestyle they live. going vegan was definitely the hardest transition i have ever made, but i've never felt better. so if you are ever looking for some good vegan food, let me know. i know so many more places now.
